Truth Underground rocks The Carrack

Bull City Poetry slam Jan 1

The upcoming spoken word documentary film, “Truth Underground” hosted a spectacular fundraiser this past Thursday in conjunction with the dynamic, zero-commission, gallery space, The Carrack. The evening was a rousing success. You can donate through the Southern Documentary Fund here to support this labor of love.

The filmmakers from Warner & Co. (full disclosure—the Clarion Content does their promotion) were a hit. They premiered the latest version of their trailer, and the last version that will be seen publicly for sometime as they now shift into production overdrive in an attempt to wrap filming by November.

The Carrack, The Clarion Content, and Warner & Co., were delighted to be able to host live spoken word delivered by C.J. Suitt, Jeremy Berggren, and Kane Smego.

The power of the spoken word in person is heart-rending. Tonight, in Durham, the Jambalaya Soul Poetry Slam is at the Hayti Heritage Center for a mere $7.00. Live, world class poetry on a Saturday night for less than the latest Hollywood tripe costs at the local mall.

Also tonight in Durham, The Carrack hosts a Two Year Anniversary Celebration for the space, the cause, and the Art.

In the meantime, check out some fabulous pictures of Thursday’s event at The  Carrack from the Clarion Content’s own, Rivka Grossinger.
