Durham County Department of Public Health building

After four years of construction and more than a million dollars in cost overruns, the new Durham County Department of Public Health and Durham County Social Services building is finally open. (For more on that story check in with ABC -11’s Tamara Gibbs.)

And despite anecdotal reports of easy check-in kiosks and good automated service, the Clarion Content remains suspicious about how well taxpayers’ money was spent.

We did get a gleaming new building.

Check out the photos from the photographer/owner of Dtown Perspective, Alexandrea Thomsen, who is on a mission to become downtown Durham’s photographer of choice.

We love her work.

That place is overwhelming! I had to go by there yesterday and it’s much more enormous than I anticipated.
