Warming up

Filmmaker, Ned Phillips, of Cozmik Productions and the Clarion Content, has been in the Durham cultural milieu for longer than you’d know. From his short film, Elevation, which was part of an exhibit mounted by the Durham Arts Guild last year to the videos he has shot for Durham super groups, Hammer no More the Fingers and LiLa, his still waters run deep.

Below check out the second in a series of short films about Durham’s culture and people doing what the love by Ned Phillips aka The Cozmik Gangsta, sponsored by Runaway Clothes.

In this episode, Cozmik Productions followed DURM rappers and hip-hop impresarios, Toon and The Real Laww, on the road to the Greensboro Coliseum. Also making cameos the super fly, DJ Shahzad and Kyle Cox.

The Clarion Content has written about and photographed Toon and the Laww many times, but we have never had a film anything like this.

Our grateful thanks to Gabe Eng-Goetz of Runaway Clothes who has sponsored numerous events with Professor Toon, the Real Laww, and DJ Shahzad, as well as to Ned Phillips, who shot this over to us in between edits of “Truth Underground” the spoken word documentary film he is making with Warner & Company.
