Sights On The City
Season II
Episode 1
La Superior Carniceria

We are back with a brand new season of “Sights on the City,” our friend, and Durham bon vivant, Arturo Sanchez, is taking over as the new host. Arturo has been in Durham for over a decade, first as an undergraduate, and then as a bartender, and a graduate student. These days, in addition to hosting “Sights on the City,” he is working for the Latino Community Credit Union as a Human Resources Specialist.

At the Clarion Content, we are making a concerted effort to cover more stories about and relevant to our vibrant Latino community here in Durham.

To that end, we took the production team to La Carniceria Superior at 3325 North Roxboro Street in Durham. A family business, a classic American entrepreneurial tale, and a place filled with Latino delicacies. We talked to Jackie Flores, who’s family owns the business, about their story and their place.

Film and production by Josh Hardt.
