Town Hall
Episode 3
the future
of the
arts in Durham

Welcome to our third episode of our Durham based, political You Tube show, “Town Hall,” featuring City Councilman and long-time Durham resident, Steve Schewel, and Justin Laidlaw, aka Buddy Ruski, writer, Runaway Clothes Media Director, American Underground liaison, and Durham citizen.

In our first episode we talked about an issue, much in the minds of Durham-ites, parking. In Episode 2, we tackled another issue everybody is talking about, Development.

In episode 3 below, Steve and Justin discuss how the rapid changes in Durham will affect the arts community. They cover everything from the possibility of a new music venue, to public art, graffiti, the festival scene, and the affordability of it all.

What is the city’s role?
